M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Hassanat Oshodi holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy. Her work emphasizes psychological assessments and helping individuals better understand their needs, overcome barriers, and identify appropriate next steps in care.
Her collaborative, whole-person approach considers each client’s experiences, strengths, challenges, environment, and goals. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, person-centered therapy, and trauma- and grief-informed care. She aims to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space for self-reflection, healthier coping strategies, and meaningful change.
Hassanat is pursuing a doctoral degree and has a particular interest in accessible, culturally responsive mental health care. Her professional interests include strengthening assessment and diagnostic processes for underserved and historically overlooked populations and reducing the risk of overdiagnosis and misdiagnosis.
