John Hairston holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health Counseling. He works with individuals ages 15 and up. John brings both real-world and life experience, which includes working with adolescents, couples, families, individuals, and group settings, focusing on trauma, crisis management, interventions, behavioral issues, anxiety, and depression. John utilizes evidence-based theoretical models, including Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Strengths Perspective, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) techniques, and Intensive Outpatient Program for substance use. Mr. John believes in creating a safe and supportive environment for clients. He’s passionate about his clients and surrounding support to overcome life’s difficulties, and become empowered. With strong communication skills and a natural ability for empathetic listening, Mr. Hairston has extensive experience building therapeutic relationships and understanding the importance of trust in counseling. He’s committed to developing effective, client-centered strategies that foster growth, healing, and personal transformation. He’s available for in person at the Cumberland/Atlanta office and also works as a community clinician.
